Shanti Das, CEO and Founder, Press Reset Entertainment
A music industry veteran and former executive for powerhouse labels Arista, Columbia, Universal Motown and Sony Urban Music, Shanti Das has returned from the Big Apple to her hometown, Atlanta. It didn’t take long for her to plant her stilettos into the Georgia red clay before she launched her new business, Press Reset Entertainment.
“I celebrated 20 years in the music business this summer and decided to take a leap of faith and start over,” she offers. The Atlanta-based entertainment concierge firm’s services include marketing, artist development, talent booking and brand influence. “More importantly, we do mentoring and philanthropic work,” adds Das.
Das co-founded the hit monthly music series, ATL Live on the Park. Currently enjoying its third season, the event showcases old school, new school and emerging artists like Andre Harrell’s group, Hamilton Park, and returning artists like BuVision/Konlive artist Verse Simmonds.
Das has a big heart. About two years ago, she learned that bodies were stacking up in Detroit’s Wayne County morgue. It touched her heart so deeply, she established a foundation, May We Rest in Peace, and raised over $30,000 to cover burials for 30 decedents. She also feeds the homeless in a parking lot on Courtland and Pine Street — the people that many turn a blind eye to as they drive past them. “My friends and I feed them on a monthly basis … the number of people who come out to support us is growing,” she shares.
The star maker has self-published two books: The Hip-Hop Professional: A Woman’s Guide to Climbing the Ladder of Success in the Entertainment Business and The 1, 2, 3s of Networking. –yvette caslin
